Design Paradigm’s An Archaeology of the Architectural Design Process PEEK 2013 research project intended to conduct pioneering design-based research rooted in its main field of expertise: the intersection of architectural theory, architectural design and visual culture and specifically the material culture of the architectural design process, highlighting the main hypothesis of Design Paradigm: the close interdependency of reproducing and designing.
The outcome of the BUILDING THE DESIGN winter term design studio 2012/2013 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna run by Angelika Schnell and Eva Sommeregger is shown at the »Wunderkammer« exhibition at Vienna’s University of Technology – the exhibition is on display for four consecutive days, 1st till 4th April 2014, including the »long night of science« – 4th April, where scientific work is presented to the wider public all night long at various locations throughout Austria. Jury members such as Valie Export and Elisabeth von Samsonow were responsible for the »Wunderkammer«’s selection.
»Archiv 210« showcases two design-based research projects at an interim stage. During the »Rundgang« open days at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 23 rd to 26th January 2014, Waltraud Indrist and Eva Sommeregger will let visitors catch a glimpse of their work in progress.
