»Discursive Practices – Discursive Spaces«

curated by Anamarija Batista, Waltraud Indrist, Eva Sommeregger
Institute for Art and Architecture, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

The 2016 summer lecture series discusses modes of teaching and learning that have been practised at various schools of architecture, ranging from Black Mountain College and Bauhaus to contemporary teaching programmes. In this series we focus on the question of how notions of process and discourse shape the ways in which “learning architecture” is thought, taught and practised. Teaching practices are not only the subject of the series, but also the means to present them. The chosen formats and spatial arrangements intentionally avoid lecture-style models and intend to open up towards a more inclusive approach.
